Johnston writes vivid accounts of the Old West. Each book of this series covers a specific battle of the Indian Wars era. This volume covers the Battle of Summit Springs. Seamus Donegan is again the lead character. Each side is fairly portrayed. There are a couple of scenes in this one that are a bit too graphic for my taste, but they are historically accurate.

BE THE FIRST TO KNOW

I had high hopes when Buffalo Bill Cody entered into the story, but it seemed to be too choppy of a read. I think it still is a fairly accurate description of the events, but not as entertaining as the previous books. I do recommend that you read it as some of the plot with Seamus comes to a head. This is another good book in the Plainsman Series.
